In a result that was not exactly a surprise Jake Paul beat Mike Perry in last night's (20 July) bout, with Paul winning by a TKO in the sixth round.
This whole thing was going ahead because he couldn't fight one Mike, so a replacement Mike was brought in and the bout against Mike Tyson pushed back to later in the year.
Paul was able to knock his opponent down three times during their fight and Perry took a considerable amount of punches before the referee decided that enough was enough and it was time to stop.

This may not be the last time the two of them fight as it's possible they could step into Perry's domain and have an MMA bout, but at this stage who knows what'll happen?
Anyhow, while the fight might not have been much of a contest Paul seemed determined to make a spectacle of himself by showing up to the ring in a chariot and dressed as a gladiator.
It was certainly a dramatic entrance and boxing fans have found themselves with plenty to say on the subject.

"He's a showman after all and an entertaining one, I'll give him that," was one viewer's response to the spectacle unfolding ahead of the fight.
However, a lot of the response to the ring walk seemed like a chance for people to call Paul out.
He once again faced accusations that he 'doesn't fight real boxers' and 'only fights washed fighters', while others thought the whole idea of dressing up as a gladiator was 'light years past cringe' and 'severely embarrassing for mankind'.
While some praised him as a 'warrior', others quipped 'all this to fight a 170lb MMA fighter'.

Paul is certainly a divisive figure within boxing as there are some who enjoy his fights and others think he's been picking and choosing opponents he can pretty easily beat that don't have a lot of actual boxing experience.
He is meant to be fighting Mike Tyson later on this year, with 15 November pencilled in as the rescheduled date for that to happen.
Even that fight has drawn a lot of criticism, as Tyson is many years older than Paul and it's been a long time since the end of his boxing career proper.

He's still a big name in the sport of boxing but he's a 58-year-old who will be fighting a 27-year-old.
More to the point, he's a 58-year-old who has had to postpone the fight because he suffered a medical emergency and is maybe not the fearsome foe he once was.
