Viral breakdancer Raygun's routine on way to closing ceremony has everyone talking after she scored zero in games

Australian breaking star Raygun went viral during the 2024 Paris Olympics

She's done it again. Olympic breakdancing star Raygun has gone viral again after embracing her newfound fame and giving the people what they want: another routine.

Raygun, also known as Sydney university lecturer Rachael Gunn, represented Australia in the breakdancing competition which debuted during the Paris Games under the official title of the sport, breaking.

Sadly for Raygun, her performance didn't go too well during the women's competition last Friday (9 August), with the 36-year-old failing to score a single point during her heat against France's Sya Dembele.

Despite the clean sweep victory for her opponent, Raygun's performance has gone down as one of the most - if not the - most viral moment of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

From hopping like a Kangaroo to improvised moves on the floor, Raygun's performance become incredibly meme-worthy, some of them more brutal than others.

One of the judges, MGbility (real name Martin Gilian), said that Raygun's performance simply wasn't better than her opponent.

"The breaking and hip hop community definitely stands behind her. She was just trying to bring something new, something original and something that represents her country," he told News Corp.

"We stay with her. We have five criteria in the comparative judging system. Just her level was maybe not as high as the other competitors. Again, we're using a comparative judging system. Her competitors were just better but it doesn't mean that she did really bad. She did her best."

Raygun also stood up for herself after the performance went viral for the wrong reasons. She said: "All my moves are original. Creativity is really important to me. I go out there and I show my artistry.

"Sometimes it speaks to the judges and sometimes it doesn’t. I do my thing, and it represents art. That is what it is about."

And she clearly shows no signs of stopping any time soon after going viral once again for an improvised routine before the closing ceremony of the Olympics on Sunday night.

Waiting with the Australian team beforehand, they cheered her on as she did a impromptu routine in a car park outside of the Stade de France.

The moment was videoed with her compatriots cheering her on as Raygun fully embraced her passion for breaking.

Sharing one video of the moment, Aussie rower Jean Mitchell wrote: "FKN QUEEEEN."

One viewer wrote: "Raygun is living proof that confidence pays off."

Others questioned why she didn't do this routine instead during her heat, saying it was miles more entertaining.

"Why didn’t she do that in competition? That was decent," another posted.

And a fourth posted: "THAT'S WHY SHE'S THE GOAT."

Regardless of whether she won a medal or even a single point, the people were entertained. And sometimes, that can have just as much of a positive impact.
