One Olympic athlete has said her 'back was about to fall off' while another said they've 'had to have a massage to undo the damager' after spending their first night on the 'anti-sex' beds at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The beds have caused quite a stir since being brought back after debuting in the 2020 Tokyo Games, with Olympic organisers stressing they are not to stop athletes getting jiggy with it.
For the 2020 competition, the International Olympic Committee had focused on stopping athletes hooking up, with wild parties and athletes having sex with each other a common occurrence for decades.

This time, though, the cardboard beds are said to be for 'sustainability' reasons with the entire thing able to be recycled.
Olympic and Paralympic village director, Laurent Michaud, has said he hopes the athletes will be 'very enthusiastic and comfortable' about the 2024 beds.
But it's not gone down too well so far. With some, anyway.

Taking to TikTok and being viewed millions of times, Australia's water polo star Tilly Kearns showed off the aftermath of the first night on the cardboard contraptions.
In a video captioned 'already had a massage to undo the damage', Tilly says: "This is how night one went on the cardboard beds."
Tilly's roommate and teammate, Gabi Palm, then goes: "My back is about to fall off."
"It's actually rock solid," Tilly then says.

"You can actually flip them over apparently and there's a softer side but ours was the softer side."
The clip then ends with Tilly's head in her hands in the most appropriate expression of a facepalm emoji we've ever seen.
Responding, viewers were a little confused at the set up. One said: "Why don't they just give you a normal mattress? What the heck."

A second said: "I can't fathom how professional athletes are given cardboard beds to sleep on."
And a third wrote: "Why did they have better beds in the camp I went to as a kid than in the motherf*****g Olympic Village?!"
Team GB sporting legend Tom Daley also showed off his cardboard bed, giving people on his TikTok an up close and personal view of the environmentally friendly design.

"It's like a box," he said.
"And as you can see [while jumping on the bed vigorously] they're pretty study."
Fellow members of the Australian camp, tennis players Daria Saville and Ellen Perez, also showed off their beds.
In their dorm, the duo did 'various activities' to put their strength to the test.
We're talking cannon balls, the worm, and even squat jumps.
Speaking ahead of the games, Georgina Grenon, director of environmental excellence for the organising committee, said: "I hope that Paris 2024’s efforts to reduce its impact will show that it is possible to do things differently."
