Prince William comes out with incredible insult after Euro 2024 exchange, according to lip reader

Prince William comes out with incredible insult after Euro 2024 exchange, according to lip reader

He wasn't in the mood while watching the Euro final on Sunday night

A lip reader has revealed a subtle 'insult' that Prince William used following England's final loss last night (14 July).

The Prince was in attendance during the Euro 2024 final, which saw England lose 2-1 to Spain, with the Three Lions' wait for a major trophy set to extend to 60 years by the next tournament in 2026.

Real Sociedad forward Mikel Oyarzabal slotted home the winner for Spain just four minutes from time, with Gareth Southgate's side falling short in a final for the second time, two European Championships in a row.

Spain opened the scoring through Nico Williams less than two minutes after half-time, with England substitute Cole Palmer netting from long range to restore some hope for England fans everywhere.

But it was a familiar story of so near, yet so far for those watching, as Spain lifted the trophy aloft in Berlin, as Southgate's men failed to break down an impressive opposition.

A lot of fans and pundits have blamed the manager for the result, with others going for the players instead, but the bottom line is that football is not coming home, yet again.

It seems like members of the Royal Family may not have been best pleased with the showing on the pitch either, as a lip reader has revealed what Prince William apparently said during a tense exchange following the game's result.

The 42-year-old was in attendance at Olympiastadion in Berlin with his eldest son Prince George, with the pair passionately cheering on the Three Lions.

However, the lip reader revealed that Prince William was not in the best mood when a woman approached him to have a conversation, muttering an insult in front of his son.

Lip reader Nicola Hinking revealed to the Mirror: "William wasn't having any of it and said it 'was already requested',

"When he sat down, he muttered under his breath the word 'sausage'."

The heir to the throne has been present throughout England's road to the final, being in Dusseldorf to see England's quarter final penalty win against Switzerland, where he was seen showing some emotion following the result.

Body language expert Darren Stanton revealed: “We saw William in a much more relaxed manner than ever before. During many of his engagements as the Prince of Wales, William shows feelings of happiness when necessary but still displays a professional manner.

"Normally, William would show a few smiles and walk with a stride in his step to show genuine contentment - but this time, he went a step further. It was great to see a very expressive side to the Prince. Chanting with the crowd, punching the air with his fist and displaying huge grins, were all examples of William expressing raw emotion," Stanton told The Mirror.

Following England's dramatic semi-final win against the Netherlands, Prince William took to social media to congratulate the team, saying: “What a beauty, Ollie! Congratulations England! #EURO2024 Finalists. W”.

In the lead up to the game, King Charles also showed his support for Southgate's men, with his message reading: “My wife and I join all our family in wishing you the warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the U.E.F.A. European Championship – and in sending our very best wishes for Sunday’s match.

“If I may encourage you to secure victory before the need for any last-minute wonder goals or another penalties drama, I am sure the stresses on the nation’s collective heart rate and blood pressure would be greatly alleviated! Good luck, England.”
