"Papa's got a big new chunk of silver," was the way one commentator put it as Tom Daley and Noah Williams scored second place in the men's synchronised 10 metre dive.
That makes it five medals in five Olympic Games for Daley, giving him one gold, a shiny new silver and three bronzes.
In the early stages of the contest, there was little to separate Team GB from Canada as they were on exactly equal scores, though both trailed behind the Chinese team who went on to score gold.

Before long, a series of sublime synchronised plunges into the pool had Daley and Williams safely ensconced in second place.
While the dives themselves were utterly stunning, plenty of fans watching at home were dazzled by the commentary.
One of the commentators was a Team GB silver medallist himself, as Leon Taylor picked up the accolade during the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

He was joined by BBC Sport presenter Kat Downes, and they proved to be a popular pairing.
It was Downes who provided the 'papa's got a big new chunk of silver' quote about Daley, who said his son wanted to see him compete at the Olympics.
The former diver Taylor has turned commentator and BBC viewers were loving his exuberant utterances at the dives witnessed.
Perhaps the most popular thing he shouted on commentary was 'KERSPLOSH', a word rarely uttered in the English language for which we are all the poorer.

Paul Sinha of The Chase said it was 'the most Partridge commentary ever', while someone else said Leon's commentary was 'killing me'.
Another said they were enjoying that the former Team GB Olympian 'can't hide his bias'.
"Any other team does a great dive, he acknowledges it’s good. Tom and Noah do the same dive… commentator goes mad," they wrote, while also praising the use of 'KERSPLOSH'.

With Taylor 'practically bouncing off the walls with excitement and glee', it made an already impressive spectacle even more fun to watch.
Perhaps we need more sports with commentators who are blatantly partisan and shout 'OH YES GET IN' whenever they see something good going on.
Fans said the diving natter from the commentators made the event 'more enjoyable', and we're talking about an event where two blokes do synchronised dives into a pool, so it's already going great.
They said that Taylor's 'excitement is so infectious' and that's what you need from the Olympics, people who are going to get up for the events and absolutely lose their minds when something goes on.
