Elon Musk once sent out a brutal email to employees to let them know that working in the office is mandatory.
The Tesla CEO and X chairman is one of the richest and successful businessmen of our time, despite what you might think of his political stance or views.
He has always been a polarising figure, but ever since acquiring Twitter and renaming it as X in October 2022, social media users can't really get away from Musk or his thoughts, as they seem to pop up on timelines regardless of if you want them to or not.
But, from a business standpoint, it is well-known that the billionaire runs a tight ship and takes running his companies very seriously.

Known as being very hands-on, there is a reason behind why his companies, on the whole, perform well and generate the revenue they do.
In fact, back in 2022, Musk sent out an email to employees at Tesla, just as the Covid pandemic started to die down, detailing and reminding people of the office policy at the car company.
The email was leaked and released on social media, shocking many about how brutal and straight-forward he was to his employees.

It read: "Everyone at Tesla is required to spend a minimum of 40 hours in the office per week. Moreover, the office must be where your actual colleagues are located, not some remote pseudo-office.
"If you don’t show up, we will assume you have resigned."
He then went on to detail that more senior figures must be more 'visible', and explained that it's why he was in the factory so much, so his employees could see him working with them.
"If I had not done that, Tesla would long ago have gone bankrupt," he claimed.

"There are companies that don't require this, but when was the last time they shipped a great new product? It's been a while.
"Tesla has and will create and actually manufacture the most exciting and meaningful products of any company on Earth. This will not happen by phoning it in," he concluded.
There was another email sent out to employees, written in the same vein to express the importance of these measures.

After responding to a question about the leaked emails from an X account, he replied: “They should pretend to work somewhere else.”
Musk is known for his high work expectations, especially of factory workers, as they are pushed to meet ambitious goals, consistently.
