Sony has officially announced its new PlayStation 5 Pro - but people are confused over the price.
PS5 lead architect Mark Cerny revealed the news this week, with the console being dubbed the 'most advanced and innovative console hardware to date'.

However, gamers have been left in shock over the price tag, with many British buyers wondering why they are 'having to pay more'.
The console will be available in the US for $699.99, in the UK for £699.99, in Europe for €799.99 and in Japan for ¥119,980.
This includes a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller and a copy of Astro’s Playroom.
One person wrote on X: "Of course the Brits have to pay more for it too."

While another said: "Nah bro way to expensive that’s insane."
And a third added: "Why do we gotta pay more?"
Meanwhile a fourth commented: "I knew it was gonna be expensive but I was still shocked."
And a fifth said: "Well that’s an eye-watering price."

Others called the price 'insane' while some even thought the announcement was fake.
"THE $700 PS5 PRO PRICE WAS REAL," said another.

According to the PlayStation blog, the PS5 Pro has a number of improved performance features.
"We developed PS5 Pro with deeply engaged players and game creators in mind - as many have asked for a console that runs even higher fidelity graphics with smoother frame rates at 60FPS," it explains.
"We achieved this on PS5 Pro with several key performance features."
The blog states that the Pro has upgraded GPU that 'has 67 percent more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28 percent faster memory'.

There's also advanced ray tracing which 'provides more dynamic reflection and refraction of light' which enables the rays to be cast at up to triple the speed of the current console.
PlayStation adds: "We’re also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail."
The blog also explains that a number of games will also feature free software updates for the Pro's new features.
They will be labelled with 'PS5 Pro Enhanced' and include Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Demon’s Souls, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Crew Motorfest, The First Descendant and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.
The PS5 Pro will launch on 7 November with pre-orders starting on 26 September.
