WhatsApp users have been left wanting to delete the app after seeing its latest update.
As smartphone users, we're no stranger to our favourite apps making unexpected and often unwanted updates, with the changes often feeling like software developers messing with us rather than improving the user experience.
The latest app to find itself at the centre of user anger is Whatsapp, with several people vowing to ditch the platform after noticing its latest change.
For its latest update, the Meta-owned platform has decided to tidy up the app by creating a new, green heavy colour scheme - a move which hasn't gone unnoticed by users.

The changes include the arrow button used to send messages from blue to green, as well as changing the text cursor and the notification for unopened chats to the same shade.
While the update is a minor change to tidy up the app's appearance, it has clearly struck a nerve with users and they haven't been shy in holding back the opinions on social media.
"Anyone knows how to change this ugly green @WhatsApp to blue again? Hate this green. Why would they change it," one person wrote.

"Just found out that Whatsapp on ios has turned completely green. It’s giving me the ick," a second person commented, while a third wrote: "Whatsapp new update being green is enough for me to delete the app."
"No, sorry, won’t be able to make it, they slightly changed the shade of green and the shape of notification assets on whatsapp and now I have extreme sensory overload," another added.
WhatsApp's parent company Meta hasn't responded to the backlash, however, they have confirmed the updates will be rolled out to all users of the platform so users 'can focus on the things that matter most on the screen'.
"Everyone who uses WhatsApp will eventually receive this update, so it’s not something you can opt out of," Meta said.

"If you can’t see these changes yet, there may be a short wait before they reach everyone."
This isn't the only change that's left WhatsApp users fuming in the past couple of weeks either, with the app forced to make a U-turn on a series of changes last month.
The change had seen the words 'online' and 'typing' capitalised to 'Online' and 'Typing' - with the app switching back to the original after uproar online.

So there may be hope for the green haters after all.
