Sim lovers, you may want to sit down for this one as the popular PC game will be free to play from October 18 onwards.
If you had a slightly twisted childhood, you might have some particularly haunting memories of trying to drown your Sims while deleting the ladder in their backyard pool or making them wet themselves after removing the door.
Just me? Ok..

EA revealed that they had made the simulation game free as a ‘thank you’ to their loyal fans.
And it’s safe to say that fans were extremely appreciative of the freebie as one person tweeted: “Best day of my life.”
Another said: “Wow. Did not expect to wake up to this. Great news! The Sims 4 base game will be free.”

Additionally, those who have already bought the EA game can redeem The Sims 4 DesertLuxeKit from now until October 17.
All you have to do is simply log into the game and claim your new kit via the main menu.
Following the announcement, some fans speculate it could mean that The Sims 5 is on the horizon as a release date is yet to be announced.
However, it's rumoured to be a multiplayer game, according to Chief Studio Officer at EA, Laura Miele, as she says the company wants to focus on the social component of the game.

She told Sims Community last year: “I think 20 years later we learned a lot about how players interact, what motivates players, how players can come together co-operatively and so as you imagine as we think about the next generation of The Sims it’s SUPER important for us to have the best tools, the most flexibility and for players to really expand on their creativity, remix items and objects in the world.”
