Missing Brit Ben Ross found alive in Majorca 12 days after going missing

Ben Ross has been found in Majorca after going missing for 12 days

Ben Ross has been found alive in Majorca 12 days after he went missing.

The trainee barrister, 26, from Wigan arrived at the British Consulate in Palma today (Tuesday).

This comes after the British Consulate said he lost contact with his mum Felix Robinson after a 'series of unfortunate events' on 10 July.

Having decided to take a break from his studies in Palma City, Ben had his possessions stolen while he was out swimming on the local beach.

His mum said Ben was left with 'no money, no phone, and no way of contacting anyone'.

"My son is still my son, regardless of his age, he’s only 26 and I’m going out of my mind with worry," she said. "I just want to find him, see he’s ok and give him the biggest hug."

After Robinson flew out to the Spanish holiday destination for a door-to-door search, her son was finally found 12 days after he was reported missing.

"I’m so incredibly grateful for all the help and support we’ve received," Felix said in a statement. "Everyone has been truly incredible.

"We are so relieved to have found him and are now focussed on getting him back to full health and home safe and well."

The British overseas missing persons charity LBT Global also said: "We are delighted to report that Benjamin Ross, missing in Palma, has been located safe and well.

"Thank you to all who shared and supported!"

GoFundMe page organiser Carla Speight added: "Today Ben was at the British Consulate in Palma Majorca and met with Felix who is incredibly relieved at the sight of her son and being able to hug him.

"For now, Felix and her family are requesting some privacy whilst they get Ben back to full strength and home, and they want to extend their thanks to the press, media and public for all their support in finding him.

"They now have the task of arranging an emergency passport alongside making sure he is well enough to fly home following treatment for dehydration and exhaustion."

The GoFundMe, which was raising money for 'Ben's mum's costs, such as hotel, flights and food, whilst searching for Ben', has now been closed.

"Donations to the GoFundMe that was set up by friends will be donated to Andy’s Man Club once they arrive home over the next week," Speight said after a total of £3,857 was raised.
