Eamonn Holmes used his presenting slot on GB News' breakfast programme this morning (Tuesday 28 May) to address the shock split from wife Ruth Langsford.
The journalist was alongside co-host Isabel Webster, who smiled as he made his statement on live TV.
Eamonn and Ruth announced their divorce on Saturday 25 May, having tied the knot in 2010, they are known for their time presenting TV shows together for longer than that.

The couple have a son, Jack, born in 2002, while Holmes has three children from his first marriage.
With the pair announcing their divorce at the weekend, it meant that one of the UK's best known TV couples had split after 27 years together, being married for nearly 14 of those.
The pair said in a statement issued at the weekend that work commitments had taken their marriage 'in different directions'.

A spokesperson for the pair confirmed the news to The Sun on Sunday in a statement, saying: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."
And now, Holmes has spoken out about their split for the first time.
He said on GB News this morning: "Just before we move on we'd just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation.

"Your support for both of us is very much appreciated."
The couple are probably best known among most audiences for their time on This Morning, where they presented on Fridays and school holidays.
As well as this, the pair presented How The Other Half Lives, Do The Right Thing With Eamonn And Ruth and Eamonn And Ruth’s 7 Year Itch together.
They created several memorable moments on the silver screen, with one of the stand-out moments being the time that Peter Kay tried to explain what a 'dog's lipstick' was to them.

Holmes stopped presenting This Morning in 2021, ending 15 years of him and his wife presenting from the ITV show's iconic sofa, though he claimed that he was let go after comments the previous year about the Covid pandemic.
He said that his comments about the 'mainstream media' restricting discussion on 5G networks resulted in his sacking 'without warning', as he received over 750 complaints.
The journalist then joined GB News as a presenter, presenting Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel, and became very outspoken when former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield left the show.

There have been some other controversial moments in his time in broadcasting, including describing a singer as 'r*****ed' where he apologised after there were calls for him to be sacked.
Ruth continues to work with ITV, most notably as a presenter on Loose Women, a show she has been part of since 1999.
