Furious Jeremy Clarkson fan 'storms out' of new pub after driving three hours to visit

One punter said he was 'livid' after visiting Jeremy Clarkson's new pub The Farmer's Dog

A fan of Jeremy Clarkson drove three hours to the Cotswolds pub and left ‘livid’ and 'totally underwhelmed'.

Since the series Clarkson’s Farm aired, fans have been following every move of the former Top Gear star, and were more than happy when he started his new venture, a pub.

The Farmer’s Dog pub has been so packed since it opened that the host even had to go and make a barter with a nearby farmer to use his field as another car park.

As part of the deal, they each pocket half of the £2 fee to park a car at the pub.

And while business is booming, one Clarkson fan is wishing he hadn't made the trip.

Billy and his wife Emma, from Essex, are fans of the farm show, and decided to hop in the car to see what the fuss was all about.

The pair travelled from Southend in Essex to the Cotswolds, which took them three hours.

However, Billy has since said that he ‘will never go back’ to the pub after he was made to wait in line for half an hour, only to find out that the kitchen had been closed.

He told Express Online that he and his wife were excited to try the locally sourced food, but when they finally got into the establishment, there was a sign by the door which read: “Due to maintenance we are only able to serve bar snacks today.”

Not only was he angry about this, but he said others were too.

He explained: “We arrived for lunchtime around 1pm and they let us all wait in line without announcing the kitchen was closed. Why not tell people before they stand outside for 30 minutes?”

He then shared that not only were the snacks ‘rubbish’, but they included ‘pickled eggs, four sausages on a plate with a dip, and scotch eggs which didn’t look good’.

Billy said: “I was looking forward to trying a proper Lancashire hotpot, I didn’t drive all this way for pickled eggs.”

The worst part for the couple was that there was ‘no mention’ of the ‘lack of a proper menu’ on the pub's website.

They also weren’t too pleased that Clarkson wasn’t there either, but he literally has a farm to run so I think we can let him off with that one.

Billy said: “After all that, it’s a very ordinary pub. Very average, I was totally underwhelmed. It wasn’t just me, several people in line just walked off furious as well. I definitely will not be visiting again, I’m livid.”

Since opening, Clarkson has had the fortune of being jam packed with punters, and his farm shop equally shares overwhelming popularity.

Clarkson has been praised since opening his ventures for opening the eyes of people to how hard farmers work, the overwhelming hurdles they face in the industry and the realities of rearing animals.
