A Bolton bloke who ended up becoming a Postcode Lottery winner was not exactly chuffed when he opened up his envelope and discovered something other than cash.
When Chris Cork heard that someone was knocking at his door and ringing the bell, he thought that after playing the Postcode Lottery for eight years, it was his turn for some good luck.
The Bolton man explained in a TikTok that the postman had a sealed package for him from the Postcode Lottery.

"I thought I've f**king done it, I've won, I've won a lot of money," he explained to his viewers - only for his hopes of receiving cash to fade away as he opened up his prize.
When he looked out of his door hoping to see Danyl Johnson or a camera crew, 'nobody was there'.
In the past, some winners haven't been convinced that they're actually getting a prize until they've seen people from the Postcode Lottery actually show up on their street, but Chris couldn't see anyone on his street when the postman handed over his prize.

Taking the sealed package inside, he got a bit excited as he thought 'this could be a cheque', but as he opened his prize it was very definitely not money.
"Congratulations, you've won a set of f**king handmade soaps," he told his viewers as he held them up for all to see.
"I mean, they don't even smell nice. For f**k's sake, why do you need that for two little soaps.
"Went from a cheque, couple of grand, to two f**king soaps what are gonna go in the bin. Thanks a lot Postcode Lottery."

While Chris said that in his eight years playing it the Postcode Lottery have 'never, ever done anything like that', on the prizes section of the Postcode Lottery site, it does say that they also dole out non-cash prizes as well.
Sometimes the thing you get from them is not money but vouchers, gift cards and LetterBox prizes.
These include hand cream sets, socks and the soaps, which Chris was less than thrilled to receive.

Plenty of viewers for the Bolton bloke's video were astonished to learn that the Postcode Lottery had prizes other than money, and to be frank with you dear reader, it's not something I knew about until today.
Some of the folks in Chris' comments said that they'd received socks via the Postcode Lottery, while someone else claimed they'd also won the soaps and that 'they stink'.
While several others said they'd won tea bags, books and 'the smallest travel mug known to man'.
It's not quite the big cheque lots were hoping to win.
