It’s Halloween season, which means people start acting pretty, well, silly.
All the weird and random spooky decorations come out, people start dressing up as their favourite, completely unscary, film characters and others take to the streets of their quiet towns in ‘killer clown’ outfits.
OK, that last part isn’t quite as common. But someone’s been at it in Scotland for a while now.

Nicknamed the ‘Skelmorlie Clown’, they wander the streets of the town in North Ayrshire dressed as Pennywise the Dancing clown from the horror movie It.
And in videos shared to their Facebook page ‘Cole Deimos’, they insist they aren’t a ‘killer’ clown and ‘just wants to play in this so-called sleepy town’.
Actually pretty popular with locals, the clown has already invited people to: “Come and join in and learn to fear the Skelmorlie Clown.”
For those that didn’t listen to the Greek Mythology chat in school, the god Deimos is the personification of fear and represented terror and dread.

On the Facebook page, it says while the clown ‘lives in’ Skelmorlie, they’re ‘from Hell’ and ‘studied at Clown School’.
And now the clown has a ‘message and a game for the nation’.
Uploaded over the weekend, a new video from the clown lists a number of Scottish landmarks.

The Skelmorlie Clown is urging people to visit the spots and snap a pic of their ‘scariest faces’ with the hashtag #Skelmorlieclown.
Landmarks picked out by the clown include Edinburgh Castle, Loch Ness and the Duke of Wellington statue in Glasgow - that one with a traffic cone on its head.
The clown’s even encouraging people to go climb the highest mountain in Scotland and take a photo at the top of Ben Nevis.
In the video, the clown rhymes: “I have a message addressed to the nation. I've created a game for the country to play in.

"Robert Burns cottage, where the legend was from. The Bannockburn monument, where our king won. In the Loch Ness, home to our Nessie. In Falkirk the horses that go by the Kelpies.
"In Glasgow the man with the cone on his head. At Edinburgh Castle where kings and queens met. In Largs at the Pencil, where Vikings fought. And climb Ben Nevis right to the top.
"Skara Brae from times of old. And at the Calanais Standing Stones. All of these landmarks from the east to the west make up the country we know is the best.

"Your game is quite simple, at each of these places... go take a picture with your scariest faces. Post it online so your pic can be found and use the hashtag #Skelmorlieclown."
I mean, I’m going to pass on joining in on these antics but if that’s what you’re in to, go for it.
