A woman has been charged after a video went viral which appeared to show a female prison officer having sex with an inmate. The video was allegedly filmed at HMP Wandsworth.
London's Metropolitan Police confirmed yesterday (29 June) that a woman had been arrested for misconduct in public office.
And the Met has now said Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, has been charged and will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday (1 July).

The video, which was shared online, appeared to show a female wearing a prison officer uniform and performing a sexual act on an inmate. The couple then appear to move on and engage in sex, as another inmate films the encounter.
After the event, the cameraman can be heard as he said: "Guys we've made history, this is what I'm telling you."
As the video continues, one of the inmates can be heard claiming ‘this is how we roll in Wandsworth’ before dubbing his friend involved in the sexual act a ‘gangster’.

It is not clear how recently this incident took place, but it follows the Category B prison being placed under special measures last month.
A spokesman for HMP Prison Service said: "Staff corruption is not tolerated and the former prison officer allegedly featured in this video has been reported to the police. It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate."
As the video became widely shared online, others in the prison service have slammed the act.
Ian Acheson, a former prison governor, said to MailOnline: "If this footage is authentic and I've been assured it is, the problems confronting a likely new Labour administration go far beyond overcrowding.

"This is a national law enforcement agency. The idea that recruits to it would even contemplate let alone participate in sex acts is a stunning indictment of the utter chaos inside this prison. It won't be an isolated incident.
"The state is no longer in charge here. The security implications and corruption threat is obvious and as explicit as the flagrant acts. The widespread infiltration of illicit mobile phones will mean that this footage is seen by huge numbers of prisoners.
"How are decent female officers supposed to feel safe to do their jobs in an environment where colleagues willingly participate in their sexual humiliation and exploitation?"

Vanessa Frake, former head of security at Wormwood Scrubs also voiced her views as she said that this type of act is 'what is completely wrong with the prison service in this day and age'.
She added that the officer involved in the incident is a disgrace to herself and the Prison Service.
