Be prepared to close your curtains at a new time every day as the Met Office has issued a warning to UK nationals.
You might have noticed that it’s not so sunny anymore, and temperatures have plummeted right to the ground.
With our weather fluctuating from mild to stormy, it’s not exactly the greatest view to look at out of your windows each day.

But that’s not why the Met Office has asked the public to start shutting their curtains at 4:30pm.
The Met Office advised people to ‘draw your curtains at dusk to help keep the heat generated inside your rooms’ as soon as the sun goes down.
They also noted that if you want to stay toasty, then making sure your radiators aren’t covered by furniture, covers or curtains is also the way to go too.

Now, if you’re older or have any health concerns, keeping warm is even more important.
If you are part of these groups, then the Met Office suggests that you prioritise your bedroom temperature and maintain a temperature of at least 18C.
The organisation explained that while the sun currently sets around 7.20pm, next month it will be much earlier, and so you should close your curtains as early as 4.30pm, OK! reports.
The Met Office also believes that proofing your bathroom can help to conserve your heat.

They advise that people should be closing their bathroom windows each night so that the plummeting weather doesn’t affect your home - and your health.
According to the Mirror, they explained: "Overnight, people who are 65 and over or who have pre-existing health conditions may find bedroom temperatures of at least 18C are good for their health.
"This may be less important if you are a healthy adult under 65 and have appropriate clothing and bedding. It is important to keep your bedroom window closed at night when the weather is cold."

While the UK is facing the wrath of the oncoming Arctic chill, there’s hope as sunnier weather is on the horizon, and you’ll be able to bathe in the sun for at least another week before we’re subjected to months of cold and wet weather.
According to weather reports, we’re going to see temperatures climb further, reaching 19-21C across Scotland and Northern Ireland, and 22-25C in parts of England and Wales by midweek next week.
So, at least there’s something to look forward to.
