Just when you thought you couldn’t get another jumper on under your dressing gown as you shiver over your desk, it’s about to get colder.
The UK has really been feeling the chill this past week with a warning of a ‘snow bomb’ already issued.
But Brits are also warned of a -10C freeze heading for northern parts of the UK, making Britain even colder than Greenland.

The Met Office currently has a yellow warning for snow and ice in place for areas of England, Wales and Scotland which looks to continue in northern areas into the week.
The national weather service warns there will be a ‘cold air firmly in place over the UK during the week’ with the chance of snow ‘increasing’.
Although it does add that there is ‘still plenty of detail to work out’.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has a Cold Health Alert in force, warning of possible severe impacts and across the health and social care sector.

Senior operating meteorologist Marco Petagna told The Mirror it’s going to be exceptionally cold, explaining: “It seems -10C looks quite feasible across some northern areas, it just depends, when we get snow lying potentially temperatures could dip lower than that. Certainly minimums of around about -10C in the week ahead but potentially it could get lower than that in some snow covered hills in the north.
“Some hills could struggle to get above freezing in the next few days, particularly in the north, but even when they do get above, low to mid-single figures at best.”
And yep, this teeth-chattering low beats the chill of the notoriously cold Greenland, where it will be just -7C over the same period.

As the weather gets to a whole new level of cold, the UKSHA are urging people to keep an eye on those vulnerable.
Head of Extreme Events and Health Protection, Dr Agostinho Sousa said: “The temperatures we will see leading into the weekend can rapidly have a serious impact on the health of those over the age of 65 and those with pre-existing health conditions as it increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes and chest infections. It is therefore vital to check in on friends, family and neighbours to ensure they are well prepared for the cold weather next week.”
So wherever you are in the UK this week, make sure you wrap up warm lads.

And take extra care when travelling as the National Highways warn to ‘allow lots of extra time to prepare for the unexpected’.
