As the cold snap continues, Brits are turning to a ‘life-saving’ accessory to keep warm and cosy while they're out and about.

With thousands of five-star reviews, the electric heated gilet is the bestselling item in its category on Amazon - and people can't seem to get enough of the quirky garment.

“First-class product, it works perfectly and keeps me so cosy,” one shopper wrote, adding that they had started wearing it indoors instead of turning the central heating on. “I really feel the cold and this has been a lifesaver - it’s saving me money on heating bills too!”

A second customer was just as impressed, as they added: “I work outdoors in all weather and used to get very cold in the winter. This jacket is light and comfortable and keeps me warm in the coldest weather. I would recommend this garment to anyone who works outdoors, walks the dog or simply wants to keep the heating bills down.”

A third simply said, “This has been a lifesaver over the last few days of sub-zero temperatures. I’ve used it for dog walking and also plan to use it for playing golf in extreme winter conditions. If the cost of gas and electricity continues to rise, I will consider wearing it whilst at home and turning the thermostat down a degree or two!”

So, what is the item everyone is talking about?

Amazon is flogging a waterproof heated gilet to help you endure the cold weather- and it’s selling fast. Designed to be worn on winter walks, camping trips, and even around the house to cut down on energy bills, it comes with a power bank to generate heat across three core areas of the body: the mid-back, left chest, and right chest).

There are three heat settings to choose from (low, medium, and high) too, so you can choose what’s right for you. A special in-built thermal protection module will make sure it doesn’t overheat too.

But that’s not all. According to the product description, the gilet can also help to promote blood circulation and relieve muscle pain. One shopper raved: “Fantastic garment for the winter. I wear it every time I have to be outside, particularly in the morning. It’s a game changer for me because it keeps my back warm and reduces the pain and stiffness I suffer from.”

The best part? It’s machine washable and according to the product description, has successfully undergone a stress test of over 50 machine wash cycles - ‘working like brand new every time’.

Where to buy the heated gilet on sale now

The CONQUECO Heated Vest is available to purchase on Amazon now. The coveted women’s style is currently reduced from £99.99 to £69.99 whilst the men’s option is down from £105.99 to £79.49 for a limited time only.
