People can’t get over how tall Barron Trump is compared to 2016 presidential election

Donald Trump has declared himself the winner of the 2024 US presidential election ahead of the official result.

But it was during his speech to an excited Republican party crowd that all eyes were on his son Barron Trump, with many left shocked by just how big he is.

Four years after losing the keys to the White House after losing to incumbent president, Joe Biden, it looks like Trump is set to return to Washington DC after winning a number of swing states in the 2024 race.

Going into polling day, neither Trump nor Harris were ahead in any of the political polls with it seen as the closest election in decades.

But as the results began to roll out, it quickly became clear that Trump's share of the vote was going to be significantly larger than the polls predicted, though he is yet to achieve the official required electoral college votes.

Addressing a large audience of his close supporters in Florida before the official result had been declared, Trump was joined on stage by his wider family.

This included his wife, Melania, and all of his children.

Of his five children, it was the youngest - 18-year-old Barron - who quite literally stood out above the crowd as Trump declared his victory.

Standing at six foot seven inches, many took to social media to ask if it was the same young child who stood beside his mother and father back in 2016 when Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the race for the presidency.

"Barron Trump may very well be just three normal height humans stacked on top of one another," one person wrote on Twitter (formerly X).

A second said: "My goodness. Barron Trump is twice his height as eight years ago."

And a third posted: "Where the hell did Barron Trump get them damn height genes."

Trump opened up about Barron's 6ft 7in height during his presidential campaign.

Addressing the Iowa caucuses in January this year, he mentioned Barron's height during a tribute to his mother-in-law, Amalija Knavs, who had died earlier that month.

Trump said: "Boy, did she take care of Barron."

He added: "That's how he got so tall. He only ate her food. I said you're gonna be a basketball player. He said, well 'I like soccer dad', actually.

"I thought... at your height, I like basketball better but you can't talk them in to everything."

Trump said Amalija and her husband were 'great parents to all of us... but also to Barron'.
