Couple 'getting steamy' in car accidentally roll into river after making vital error

Couple 'getting steamy' in car accidentally roll into river after making vital error

The pair had to complete a swim of shame back to dry land

You've heard of the mile high club, but have you ever heard of the mile below club? Me either.

But it seems this couple might be the very first members of it after their moment of passion in a parked car ended up with them both being immersed in Philadelphia's Schuylkill River in the early hours of the morning.

Instead of waiting for a cold shower when they got home, this pair accidentally opted for a dunk in the 135 mile-long river which runs through eastern Pennsylvania on Wednesday (28 August).

The daring duo were getting randy inside of a 2020 Range Rover near the water's edge in Fairmount Park when the car started rolling after they made a vital error.

So, let this be a warning to anyone who is partial to a bit of lovemaking in a motor vehicle - make sure you stay well away from any ponds, rivers, lakes and oceans.

Otherwise, you'll face a very soggy end to your sexual relations like these two did.

The unidentified couple were probably having a blast doing their thing in the backseat of the spacious Range Rover while the rest of the city was sleeping, but it all went Pete Tong at about 4.15am.

Somehow, one of the overzealous lovebirds accidentally bumped into the gear stick with one of their limbs while they were getting steamy, causing the car to start rolling as they nudged it into drive.

Within a matter of moments - and probably long before the duo had a chance to chuck their clothes back on - the white Range Rover had tumbled over the edge and right into the Schuylkill River.

Although they were forced to emerge from the river sheepish and soaking wet, the couple luckily managed to escape from the sinking car before it went below the surface.

Imagine the murders they had while swimming back to dry land, eh?

Philadelphia Police confirmed the pair were 'enjoying each other's company' prior to the incident and that they had both emerged unscathed, according to TMZ.

Their motor was eventually fished out of the river around five hours after their late-night rendezvous came to a damp ending, with the fire service hoisting the Range Rover out at around 9am on Wednesday morning.

Awkwardly, it's headlights had remained on all morning - so yeah, everyone in the immediate vicinity probably knew exactly what had gone down after one look in the water.

According to reports, there are no charges being lodged against the couple following the incident.

Eerily, another car also rolled into the river at the same spot near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge on 16 August - but no one was found inside.

Perhaps they couldn't deal with the swim of shame back to dry land, eh?

Anyway, just remember that safe sex doesn't just mean contraception - it also means don't put your life in danger just to get your rocks off, lads.
