Donald Trump has shared a bizarre AI-generated video of former president Barack Obama being arrested.

It comes after Trump ally, Tulsi Gabbard, accused Obama of a 'treasonous conspiracy' to undermine his 2016 presidential campaign.

Gabbard, who serves as the Director of National Intelligence, has declassified a number of documents last week in connection with the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.

She said that the emails exposed a conspiracy by Obama aimed at undermining Trump's victory by using 'manufactured and politicised intelligence' to suggest that others might have affected the election outcome.

"Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the President from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people," she said.

Throughout the week, Trump has reposted her interviews on Truth Social, along with a strange AI deepfake clip of Obama being arrested in the Oval Office.

The first part of the video shows the former US leader on his knees being handcuffed by the FBI.

"No one is above the law," was the caption to the clip shared by the current US president on Sunday (21 July).

It also features a number of Democratic politicians such as former president Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, repeating the phrase 'no one is above the law.'

The digitally-altered video then shows Trump and Obama in the Oval Office while YMCA by Village People is being played in the background.

Obama is handcuffed by FBI agents and is put away in prison in an orange jumpsuit.

The 79-year-old has shared several posts about Gabbard allegations, while some questioned the timing given ongoing controversy over the Trump administration's handling of Jeffrey Epstein-related files.

Just days after the US Justice Department and FBI said there was no evidence of an 'Epstein client list', Trump made a massive U-turn by ordering the release of some files.

Speaker Mike Johnson publicly called for all Epstein records to be made public last week, requesting Attorney General Pam Bondi to 'release everything' and end speculation.

Trump then ordered Bondi to seek a court order to unseal grand jury transcripts from Epstein’s 2007–08 Florida case.

The convicted sex offender pleaded guilty in Florida state court to solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of prostitution with a minor in 2008.

He was sentenced to 18 months in jail, but only served 13, because he agreed a plea deal.

The 66-year-old died by an apparent suicide in prison, while awaiting trial for the sex trafficking of minors in 2019.

Trump has continued to distance himself from Epstein and said previously that he is 'not a fan.'
