Gypsy Rose Blanchard announces she's pregnant

The 32-year-old has announced that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Ken Urker

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has announced she is expecting her first child.

The 32-year-old today (9 July) revealed that she now has a baby on board and that she and her boyfriend, Ken Urker, are set to become parents just months after getting back together.

In a video on her YouTube channel, Gypsy Rose explained it was 'completely unexpected' but she and her partner - who she rekindled her romance with in April this year, weeks after filing for divorce from Ryan Anderson - are thrilled about it.

The couple were previously engaged while the mum-to-be was still behind bars for the second-degree murder of her mother Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard, but they called it off after four months.

After she was freed on parole in December 2023 and following her split from her estranged husband Ryan, Gypsy and Ken reconnected and realised that their 'love for each other is simply undeniable'.

In a statement at the time, Gypsy said: "Life is too short to not take a chance.

"We have a history that made for the perfect foundation for a new beginning," she continued. "We are together and in a wonderful place in our relationship. We know it is going to be a long road ahead but are excited for the future."

Little did they know, it would be just a matter of months before they started a family together.

Announcing her pregnancy, Gypsy gushed: "We’re both very excited, this was not planned at all it was completely unexpected but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood.

"I have already experienced the symptoms, when I first learned that I was pregnant, the first thing that I noticed was the cravings [...] Then the next thing was I noticed was the hunger, like an insatiable hunger [...]

"And then, of course, I missed my period and I didn’t think anything of it because I had seen my OBGYN and I had tested my fertility and she said ‘we’ll probably need to put you on fertility meds’.

"So when I missed my period, I thought I was just having issues with ovulation. It wasn’t until I had texted with Ken and he’s like ‘have you taken a pregnancy test?’

"Then I had taken a test and it turned out positive, so everything just made sense."

Gypsy - who is believed to have been the victim of Munchausen Syndrome by proxy throughout her childhood - was still serving time in prison just last year.

She spent seven-and-a-half-years incarcerated for her part in the brutal murder of her mother, which her boyfriend at the time, Nicholas Godejohn, helped her orchestrate.

The pair claimed that it was the only way they could escape the 48-year-old, who had forced her daughter to pretend that she was terminally ill throughout her childhood.

Dee Dee told people her daughter was wheelchair bound and had serious health conditions including epilepsy, impaired vision and muscular dystrophy.

Gypsy had to use a feeding tube and oxygen tank, and had been subjected to a number of unnecessary medical procedures.

Gypsy pleaded guilty to second degree murder in 2016 and received a 10 year sentence, while Godejohn was convicted of first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
