On 8 October, 2009, a family-of-three went missing and exactly what happened is still unknown.
What is known is that on that day 44-year-old Oklahoma man Bobby Jamison, his 40-year-old wife Sherilynn and their daughter Madyson, six, all disappeared.
There was no clue pointing towards where they might have gone, but their family truck was found a few days later about an hour's drive away from where they lived.

Inside the truck was the family dog, Maisie, who was malnourished but still sitting in the back waiting for her owners to return.
The Jamison family had also left seemingly all of their belongings behind, as wallets, ID cards, mobile phones, a GPS system and around $32,000 in cash were all found abandoned inside the truck.
Where they got that money from and what they planned to do with it was never discovered, and investigators had no way of knowing if the family-of-three had voluntarily left the truck or been forced out of it.

Whatever had happened to the family, nobody had come back to the truck to claim the money.
Extensive search efforts were made but couldn't find where the Jamison family had gone after getting out of their truck and abandoning it.
Why they'd driven out there with their daughter, brought such a large amount of money and then abandoned it all along with the family dog has never been definitively answered.
It wasn't until November 2013 that any trace of them was found, as some hunters discovered human remains less than three miles away from where the truck had been abandoned and in July 2014 it was finally proven that they belonged to the missing family.

This prompted a fresh investigation from the police, who found a security recording from the Jamison house which showed the family packing up their truck.
Sherilynn was seen putting a brown briefcase into the truck which was never found during the investigation along with a handgun that she owned.
Due to the decomposition that the bodies had suffered over the years they'd been missing a cause of death for the family was not possible to determine.

Shortly before they disappeared Bobby had reportedly told his pastor he feared his house was haunted and that he'd seen ghosts on the roof.
Sherilynn had bought a Satanic Bible which Bobby told his pastor he'd read, leading some to wonder whether witchcraft was a possible motive in the strange disappearance.
While there have been a number of theories about what exactly happened the case remains unsolved and it's possible the truth of the family and their final moments will never be known.
