Woman caught coworker's horrifying act on camera she set up after noticing concerning smell from her Coke cans

She became alarmed after noticing a 'strong chemical smell and taste' coming from her drinks

A man has been arrested after he was allegedly caught tampering with his co-worker's drink on a hidden camera.

Joseph Ross, 34, was taken into custody last week in Milwaukee after his fellow employee raised concerns about a 'strong chemical smell and taste' coming from her Coca Cola cans.

The woman, who worked alongside Ross at the Wisconsin State Fair Park grounds, told police she noticed something was awry when she 'became ill' after consuming the drinks over the course of two to three weeks.

She had a hunch that someone may have been slipping something into the beverages and set up a hidden camera at her desk in a bid to confirm her suspicions.

The woman, referred to as JH in court records reviewed by Law&Crime, concealed the recording device underneath her computer monitor.

After watching the footage, her worst fears were realised, as the camera allegedly captured Ross squeezing super glue into her drink, according to reports.

The woman approached two officers from the Wisconsin State Fair Park Police who were on a foot patrol on 20 March and requested a private conversation to make a complaint.

She told the cops that she had 'suspected that her beverages on her desk had been contaminated by a chemical substance', according to a probable cause affidavit, and handed over the footage.

It is claimed that the video shows Ross holding a brown and orange tube with a white nozzle, before he allegedly administers a 'liquid substance' into JH's open can of Coca Cola which was on her desk.

Police say that while allegedly interfering with her drink, the 34-year-old was wearing clear latex gloves, which he later discarded.

Ross reportedly admitted to 'placing a supplement' into his co-worker's drink while being quizzed by cops.

Authorities then obtained a search warrant to scour Ross' office and the surrounding area, which is said to have led them to find a 'set of clear protective gloves' that were 'wadded into a ball'.

"When the officers unraveled the gloves, the officers found that each contained an item," police said. "One glove contained a blue plastic cap. The other glove contained a super glue container."

Police said the container was 'Gorilla brand super glue', while noting that the bottle had a warning label which cautioned people to 'keep out of the reach of children' due to the risk of ingesting it.

Ross was reportedly charged with one felony count of placing foreign objects in edibles on Tuesday (25 March) and is being held at the Milwaukee County Jail. His bail has been set at $10,000 (£,7,725).

He could face up to 38 months behind bars and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted, according to TMJ4.

Ross is scheduled to appear in court on 3 April for a preliminary hearing, while a judge ordered that he should have no contact with JH if he is released.

The woman's can of Coke has been sent off for analysis.

Wisconsin State Fair Park said in a statement to Fox 6: "The two individuals involved were employed by a vendor and were not State Fair Park employees, therefore, we cannot comment on employment status.

"However, since this incident occurred while at State Fair Park, our police department responded, conducted a thorough investigation, and submitted the report to the District Attorney. Additionally, our police department has issued a 'No Trespass Order' to the individual being charged.

"While this incident did not happen between State Fair Park employees and did not involve any patrons, we want to reiterate that safety is top priority at State Fair Park, and we take these matters very seriously."

During Ross' court hearing on Wednesday (26 March), Commissioner Andrea Bolender said the case was 'unusual', 'extremely alarming', and 'definitely has elements of a lot of violence'.
