Weezer's performance at Coachella this weekend could well be in doubt after bassist Scott Shriner's wife Jillian Shriner was shot by police and reportedly faces a charge for attempted murder.
Jillian was absentee booked by police after allegedly pointing a gun at officers and ignoring orders to put it down.
The shooting occurred in the midst of a wild hit-and-run through the streets of Los Angeles, US, as police assistance was requested by the California Highway Patrol to help track down three suspects alleged to have fled the scene.
While the 51-year-old wasn't involved in the car incident, one of the reported suspects fled the scene and ended up on the residential street where Jillian lives, police say.
It remains unclear what happened with the other two suspects reportedly involved in the hit-and-run near the Eagle Rock neighbourhood in LA.
It is suggested that the suspect removed some of his clothing so as to not attract suspicion before Jillian allegedly stormed out of her house locked and loaded.
Jillian Shriner was arrested by police (KTLA) It is claimed by a law enforcement source that officers shouted at Jillian to drop her weapon but she had already begun shooting.
Officers then shot Jillian in the shoulder, but she allegedly returned inside her house for around 30 minutes before coming back out with a babysitter, both of whom had their hands up and surrendered to the police, who then arrested Jillian.
She was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries by the Los Angeles Fire Department and was absentee booked on suspicion of attempted murder.
Weezer were confirmed alongside Ed Sheeran as last-minute additions to the hugely popular music festival in California.
The band were scheduled to perform in the Mojave tent on April 12 at 3.10pm but they may well have to do so without their main bassist following the news.

The American rock band, who are best known for their hit song Islands in the Sun, are also scheduled to perform at the UK's biggest festival later this summer.
Jillian, meanwhile, rose to fame as a best-selling author for her 2010 memoir Some Girls: My Life in a Harem.
