A pregnant woman was fired from her $120,000 job in New York City because her boss allegedly claimed she couldn't be trusted.

The PR executive was fired from her job at the company Press Hook, after her boss ‘unlawfully gaslit’ her whilst being pregnant - leading to an ongoing legal battle.

Rachann McKnight, 37, says that she was fired because her boss claimed she ‘could not be trusted’ because of her ‘pregnancy brain’, and the boss even warned others in the company not to get pregnant.

Her boss, named Songy, who is also 37, allegedly made a series of hurtful comments, including ‘squeeze tight and keep the baby in longer’.

I'm pretty sure that one didn’t go down all that well.

Songy, a multi-millionaire, is denying the damaging claims and has assembled a legal team to defend her case.

McKnight joined the company in 2021 and was ‘second in command’ to Songy in the company.

When she first joined, Songy claims that she received praise often and was good at her job, but things started to get tricky when she fell pregnant after suffering two miscarriages already.

In the legal battle, it has been revealed that when she revealed to her boss that she was expecting, she had a ‘look of horror’ rather than congratulations.

When asking about the maternity leave policy, she was told by Songy that ‘we wanted to provide employees with the bare minimum time off required by law’, which is 12 weeks in America.

McKnight said the first incident occurred in 2022, when the millionaire boss revealed her pregnancy to her workplace without her consent.

Hesitant to share the news, presumably due to past experiences, but also just because she was early on in her pregnancy, she didn’t want to tell her colleagues just yet.

But it was claimed that Songy said ‘just tell them already’ during a work lunch.

During her pregnancy, she suffered extreme sickness, a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum, which Songy was not approving or accepting of.

During a work trip, McKnight left early due to her sickness, and Songy allegedly said: “only come [on work trips] when you're fun and you can drink.”

In addition, the boss is also supposedly accusing her of booking too many doctors appointments.

As a result of a whole other slew of allegations and comments, McKnight was fired in June 2022 after being asked to take a pay cut.

Songy brutally said: “[You] cost too much money for someone who was going on a three-month vacation," alluding to her maternity leave.
