A woman who claims to have been vaping around one full bar – around 600 puffs – each day has offered some advice on how she managed to quit.
Goodie, a 26-year-old fashion TikToker who goes by @iftheshoefitswearit online, says that vaping used to be the ‘biggest joy’ in her life, but she realised that she had to knock it on the head.
So, after two weeks free from the vape, she offered a few tips on how to quit after being asked by a follower online.

Here’s what she had to say: “If you’re struggling to quit vaping, then watch this video because I have some really good tips for you.
“For a bit of context, I was vaping one elf bar a day which is like 600 puffs, which is a lot."
“So, number one thing to do is, when you’re going to quit, don’t quit in the middle of the day.
“Don’t be like, ‘right, I’m going to quit at 3:00pm’ after you’ve already vaped that day. Start on a fresh day.”

That’s probably a pretty good bit of advice – there’s no point just arbitrarily picking a spot in the day, you might as well have a ‘day one’ moment and stick to it.
She continued: “OK, so you’ve decided you’re going to quit that day, you need to throw away every single vape you have, do not keep a single vape – even dead ones.
“When you first quit the first two days are gonna be absolutely horrendous, like hell on earth.

“You’ll then [start to see] it will start to ease off, and I promise you the longer you do it the more it will ease off.
“The practical things I’ve done to help me are literally sweets, sweets, sweets…
“Also straws with ice cold water or straws with fizzy pop. I’ve now got an addiction to San Pellegrino. It’s going to really help with the oral fixation, because that part – for me – was the hardest part,
“I also did try nicotine patches, which I recommend buying ahead of time.”

She concluded: “But, I promise you if you are struggling, you can do it.
“I never thought I would give up vaping, I loved it, it was like the biggest joy in my life, and I’m two weeks clean, and I don’t intend on going back.
"Unless maybe when I’m in Ibiza, I might have a cheeky vape when I’m really drunk.

“But that doesn’t count! Apart from that, vape free.”
OK, so maybe that last bit isn’t quite as encouraging, but it’s worth remembering that when you’re quitting anything you’re likely to have setbacks, and – so long as you get back on the horse – you shouldn’t beat yourself up about it too much.
Just do your best, OK?
