Depp and Heard are currently embroiled in an acrimonious trial after Depp sued Heard for $50 million for defamation, with Heard countersuing for $100 million.
The past few days have seen the Pirates of the Caribbean actor take to the stand to give evidence, and he was also made to watch video footage of himself battering up the kitchen angrily after allegedly drinking a lot of red wine.
In the footage, Depp can be heard shouting ‘mother f***er’ repeatedly and punching a wall.
When Heard asks him what happened, items can be heard smashing around, seemingly being thrown.

Heard then says: “All I did was say sorry. Did something happen to you?
“I don't think so. You drank this whole thing this morning? You're smashing s***.”
Upon the video being shown, Heard’s lawyer Ben Rottenborn asked Depp: “This is at your house in West Hollywood.

“That's you on the video. You were violent?”
Depp responded: “Clearly I was having a bad time. I don't know what with regard to, but being illegally recorded by your chosen other is quite fitting with the rest of the photographs and tape recordings.
“She tried to hide it from me and laughed and smiled at the end.
“That was the most interesting part.”

He added: “I did assault a couple of cabinets but I did not touch Miss Heard.”
Rottenborn then asked if Depp was drunk at the time, to which he responded: “It’s a possibility.”
Rottenborn continued: “You poured yourself a mega pint of red wine?”
Depp hit back: “A mega pint? I poured myself a large glass of wine. I thought it necessary,”

Later in the questioning, Depp argued: “I don't know about anyone else but I've had experiences where one does stray from complete control over their emotions at times.
“I did not try to intimate Miss Heard.
“Why was she filming? If she was scared to death why didn't she leave?”
The trial is just the latest episode in the long history between the two, who were married for 23 months between 2015 and 2017.
After splitting up, Heard wrote an opinion piece that has become the centre of this trial, in which she claimed she was the victim of abuse, without naming Depp in the article.
Depp denies abusing Heard, and the trial continues.
