A female news presenter with over 20 years of experience has shared the shocking email she received about the outfit she wore on air.
Earlier this year, Australian journalist Narelda Jacobs - who has been working for Network 10 since 2000 - was doing a great job presenting the national news bulletin, as usual.
However, the 48-year-old has since taken to social media to share a screenshot of some nasty hate mail, which is, unbelievably, still a thing in 2024.

The news anchor was wearing a graphic printed beige and white blazer teamed with a dark grey v-neck top underneath.
On Tuesday (7 May) she shared a screenshot of the message with her 48.7k Instagram followers, as the email read: "Inappropriate dress sense for reading the news."
The disgruntled viewer added: "Cleavage is for the nightclub."

In her response, the journalist did not hold back, and rightly so.
She wrote in response via an Instagram post: "Yes, we still receive emails like this.
"Yes, it went to the entire newsroom. Yes, I was on air at the time. Yes, it is intended to shame and humiliate me.
"No, what I’m wearing is not inappropriate but your email sure is."

Jacobs - who was the first openly lesbian newsreader in Western Australia - was praised for her response, as one person commented: "Some people are sad and small and spray their sad smallness around.
"Good thing the sound of their sad smallness is like a mozzie on helium and the sound of your radiance is the entire brass section of a whole goddamn orchestra."
Another added: "File under 'When you really hate yourself, so you decide to email random strangers to tell them'."

"I got the same thing the other day, reading on a day with VERY intense news. Mind blown that people think it’s okay to send that sort of stuff in," penned a third.
As someone else wrote: "Normally I’d not care much about an email about this because haven’t we all seen so many of them.
"What’s great now is that sometimes they get called out. yay. You look fabulous and professional. But gosh I am so tired by it all."

"WTAF? aside from you looking perfect. I mean… Of all the things in the world today to get upset about it’s this?" a fourth penned.
Last year, Jacobs was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for 'service to the media, and to the community'.
