The horrific story of a keen swimmer being brutally eaten by a shark while at sea with some friends has come back into the spotlight.
Back Thursday 3 April 2014, 63-year-old Christine was out exercising with a group of fellow swimmers on their routine morning swim from Tathra Wharf to Tathra Beach, more than 200 miles (320km) south of Sydney, Australia.
She was completely unaware that it would be her last action on earth, and it is said that Christine wasn't even given a chance to scream before she was snatched, in what is a truly chilling story.

The group of swimmers were completely unaware of the shark's deadly presence, as the sea creature snuck up on the group.
Birds began to gather, ducking and diving above the surface as the only sign that the predator may be nearby, which then led to the group spotting its fin making its way towards them.
The swimmers thought that Christine had made it back to dry land already, as they swam in a big group back to safety, eventually thanking their lucky stars and letting out a feeling of relief on the beach as they avoided a near-death experience.

All the survivors were perfectly healthy upon arriving back at shore, but it is there that they realised that they couldn't find Christine, and realised she hadn't made it.
The fears were confirmed the next day, as her goggles, swimming cap and remains washed up on the shore.
It turns out that the colossal 13ft shark attacked the unknowing Christine instantly, and as the group didn't hear any noise or screaming, the shark had snapped its jaws at her, killing the swimmer instantly.
Rob, Christine's husband of 44 years, accepted that his wife had been 'consumed completely' during the routine swim, and was convinced that she suffered a quick, mostly painless death and was sure she 'would not have known what had hit her.'

Rob told reporters in 2014: "The shark was such a size and it's consumed her basically completely - she wouldn't have even known it happened."
He also said that she was a regular swimmer and knew the risks of swimming at sea, insisting that she would not have blamed sharks for the incident.
The area was previously a popular fishing and shark-hunting spot.

This chilling story was recently retold in a YouTube video, with several viewers shocked, leaving their thoughts in the comments section.
One put: "I'm sorry but I'm not getting in any water where I am the main course. Lol."
Another posted: "A horrible nightmare to think of being swallowed whole into the dark anatomy of a 13-foot shark. I imagine she was most likely conscious, if for only a matter of moments, when the shark swam away."
A third said: "That's such a horrible story. But there are chances we take when we go into the shark's world."
