
Shocking footage has revealed the moment motorists in Brazil were left with just seconds to react as a place landed in the middle of a motorway.
For most of us, the idea of a plane needing to make an emergency landing on the very same road that several cars are speeding down sounds nothing short of a nightmare.
However, one pilot and a bunch of quick-thinking drivers were able to avoid catastrophe went confronted with this exact situation.

Shared by CNN Brasil, the Twitter clip shows the light aircraft hovering precariously over the road after dodging a series of overheard powerlines yesterday (April 5).
Seconds later, the plane lands on the tarmac between two trucks and skids in and out of traffic before coming to a final stop on just to the side of the busy road.

The incident, which had occurred near the state of southern state of Santa Catarina, had been caused by engine failure to the aircraft, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in traffic.

Thankfully, everyone involved in the horrifying incident was left uninjured, with police confirming the aircraft's pilot 29-year-old Mateus Renan Calado and passenger, 71-year-old businessman Valdemiro Jose Minella, were not harmed.
Authorities were able to retrieve the aircraft from the road, with the road later being reopened to travellers at around 5pm that day.
Although likely scanning the sky and hoping that no further aircraft would choose the location as a place to make an emergency landing.
The incident is one of many fatal aviation accidents to occur worldwide in the past couple of months.

In February, two people were tragically killed after a small aircraft crashed into a busy street in the city of São Paulo and burst into flames, with a further six people injured by flying debris.
Meanwhile, in the US, a small plane carrying five passengers crashed just moments after taking off in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania on 10 March. Police would later confirm that everyone on board the plane survived the crash, with no injuries reported on the ground.
Back in January, shocking footage emerged showing a mid-air collision between a passenger plane and a US military helicopter in Washington D.C. which killed all 67 onboard both aircraft. Just 48 hours later an air ambulance carrying six crashed near Philadelphia, killing all those onboard.
While February saw 10 killed after a commuter plane crashed in Alaska. A passenger plane would later crash land in Toronto before flipping over and exploding into a fireball.
