The girlfriend of a man who tragically drowned after he proposed underwater made an emotional tribute to him, years after his passing.
Back in 2019, Steven Weber and his girlfriend, Kenesha Antoine, were on holiday in Tanzania, staying at a submerged cabin at a holiday resort.
The happy couple were enjoying their romantic getaway when Weber went one step further to make it even more special - carrying out an act of true romance.

The cabin had a window on the floor of one of the rooms, which Weber dove down to get his girlfriend's attention from the other side.
Antoine filmed from inside, and the viral footage revealed that he wrote a heartfelt letter to her, which he pressed against the window.
Kept in a plastic bag to keep it from being destroyed by the water, the message expressed his appreciation and love for her before turning the paper over to reveal a proposal message.

Weber then pulled out a ring, to which she said yes to, before making his way back to the surface.
Unfortunately, the message contained his last words, as he drowned before making the surface.
Writing that he couldn't 'hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you', and that he loved her 'more every day', these would be the last things that his girlfriend would hear from him.
Officials at the resort later revealed that he had 'tragically drowned while free diving', adding that 'absolutely nothing could be done' when they got to the scene.

The heartbreaking footage was put on Facebook by Antoine at the time, but four years on from the tragic incident, in 2023, she spoke about her late partner in an emotional tribute on her official website.
She wrote: "It’s hard to write about Steven. I never feel my words can do justice to someone so amazing. I want to write him the world’s greatest love letter but how can words ever be enough?
"I wish my words could leap off the page and embody his very essence so everyone can know him. To know him is to love him. To know him is to be loved.
"His heart was as big as the moon. No, bigger," she penned.

Antoine went on: "He saw people, the real human beings behind the masks we wear when we venture out into the world. I called it his superpower.
"X-ray vision of the soul. We all want to be seen but we’re afraid to be vulnerable," she expressed.
Carrying on, she added: "He scaled walls to reach my heart. He was light, he was laughter, he was well-timed ridiculousness, he was all the good things.

"I don’t like talking about him in the past tense. I still feel his presence. I hear him laugh at a movie scene he would have found funny.
"I feel his compassion when life is hard. I see his smile in my mind’s eye. I hear him tell me he does not care about the love letter. For him, the love is enough," Antoine emotionally concluded.
