The pair even started a business together when they reunited

A set of identical twins separated at birth made an unfortunate discovery after meeting for the first time in 30 years.

Zhang Li and Cheng Keke from Henan, China, found each other by coincidence on social media back in 2021, immediately noticing they looked very much alike.

The pair got in contact and started to discover they also had many things in common.

So, eventually they decided to do a DNA test which revealed they were in fact twins.

Li and Keke’s families then admitted the sisters had been separated at birth.

Sharing their story online, the pair unsurprisingly went viral as they claimed they quickly felt an incredible connection.

Seeing an opportunity with their taste of fame, the women decided to begin an e-commerce business and worked together.

However, this time was marked by frequent conflicts and disagreements and ultimately, it meant their partnership only lasted three years.

According to Keke (who is the slight youngest), whenever they live-streamed to promote their products, Li often left without notice, sometimes disappearing for two or three days at a time.

Keke said: "She never said anything when she left, and I could never find her. That's not the kind of work attitude I like."

Things got worse overnight when Li secretly moved all their shared belongings out of their rental apartment while her twin was away, leading to a major argument.

And while that was resolved, ongoing tensions persisted.

Keke claims she always had to cover their rent, meals, and other daily expenses when the twins travelled for live-streaming events. But this was despite Li apparently promising they would split costs equally.

But from Li’s perspective, the sisters had very different personalities: she was straightforward, while Keke tended to bottle things up and engage in ‘silent treatment’.

Li also blamed Keke for the failure of many of their live-streaming ventures, stating over the years they’d lost as much as CNY 600,000 (£65,000).

She said: "So I told her directly that I wouldn't be doing live-streaming with her anymore."

After live-streaming failure, Li decided to open up a physical shop in her hometown, Dengfeng.

Keke travelled there to show support, but then things collapsed during a heated argument over the store's management and the amount of investment each had contributed.

The once torn apart then reunited sisters were finally separated again after yet another work-related argument in January 2023.

Li reportedly had an outburst and yelled at Keke, and although she later regretted it, Keke couldn’t forgive her, never returning.

And that was the last time the two sisters saw each other and having now not spoken in over six months.
