A TV demonstration went horribly wrong when a reporter was left with a stab wound which required stitches.
Eitam Lachover, of Israel's Channel 1, was testing out a supposedly knife-proof vest for the channel and was stabbed repeatedly.
Eitam looked understandably nervous in the run up to the test, and asked while looking at the blade: "You're going to stab me with this?"
The other man that was part of the demonstration, Yaniv Montakyo, vice president of company that makes the protective vests, replied: "Yes. You have nothing to worry about, we are very confident with our product."

He continued: "This product can protect from knives that are stronger than this one. May I? Don't be afraid, if something happens, I'm here."
Yaniv then plunged the knife into Eitam's upper back while he was wearing the vest, when the reporter suddenly flinched in pain.
"I missed," the other guy is then heard saying.

Despite the mishap, the network still chose to air the controversial demonstration.
Speaking out after the 2016 ordeal, the company who makes the vest explained that Yaniv had accidentally stabbed Eitam in a part of the vest without the protective layer.
Fortunately the reporter wasn't seriously hurt, but he did end up needing stitches.
"Superficial puncture, some stitches in the back and I was discharged home," Eitam penned on X after the report aired. "Many thanks to everyone who expressed concern!"

It's not uncommon for TV to go wrong - something which GB News presenter Martin Daubney knows all about.
In September 2023, GB News was one of the many outlets to announce the news that escaped prisoner Daniel Khalife had been caught by police.
His escape sparked a nation-wide manhunt for the Wandsworth prison inmate, who had been charged with he was charged with terror offences in January 2023.

But Martin's breaking news announcement of Daniel's capture was far from smooth.
"This is breaking news, it’s fast happening," he said.
Martin then struggled to get his words out as he labelled Daniel as 'the terror man' and appeared to mumble 'f**k' as he laughed at his own mistakes in disbelief.

“It’s all going wrong,” he admitted before repeating himself and also adding: “Police of escape.. have arrested prisoner Daniel Khalife, beg your pardon, we’ll get the autocue in the right place.
"This story is just happening."
The chaotic coverage went on to be labelled as 'abysmal' by viewers.
