Man's relationship almost ends after telling girlfriend he met someone called 'Liz Anya' on work trip

People are flooding to social media in stitches after a man revealed why his relationship 'nearly ended after a 24 work trip to Barcelona'.

Ah men, and the pranks they pull on their unsuspecting partners.

You may have thought a man pranking his girlfriend after she fell asleep with her kebab wedged between her and the sofa was bad, but what about a prank so pre-pasta-rous it nearly caused the end of a relationship?

Jamie Mathias took to X to share screenshots from his WhatsApp conversation with his girlfriend, 'Big Wheez', when he told her he'd met someone on his work trip.

His message reads: "I met someone called Liz Anya in Spain and I've not been able to get it out of my head since.

"Nothing really happened but it probably would have if I'd stuck around for longer."

Cue red flags waving, sirens blaring and smoke steaming inside Big Wheez's brain.

Whether it's because Jamie's joke wasn't quite as polished as he'd hoped - 'Liz Anya' a.k.a. lasagne actually originating from Italy, not Spain - or because it's hard to make any sense of a man's text when he's provoked such instant rage, Big Wheez didn't realise it was all a big ol' prank.

"Omg. Ok. Why would you do this to me. Please don't ever speak to me again," she texted back.

After realising joking about cheating is pastably the worst prank ever, Jamie swiftly sent a picture of lasagne to his girlfriend before she had the chance to fully block him out of her life for good.

Despite the reassurance Jamie had been thinking about a few sheets of pasta, some mince, tomato sauce, cheese and white sauce, as opposed to another woman, Big Wheez remained 'actually not amused'.

"I don't think you know how you just made me feel," she continued.

Big Wheez added she didn't want to talk to Jamie, admitting she 'even tried to work out if the name was a joke and [...] couldn't'.

"I f**king looked her up on Instagram," she said. "You're a p***k."

Big Wheez may've remained unamused, but X users couldn't help but flock to the post, many finding the prank hilarious.

One said: "I feel her pain but that is funny i hope she’s recovered hahaha."

"Someone watched The Chase the other day," another added.

A third said: "Did you meet Carl Hickbred too?"

However, a fourth commented: "I'm so confused , what's Spain got to do with Lasange. Makes more sense if it was Italy."

Unfortunately for Jamie, things remain 'frosty' between him and Big Wheez.

Here's a penne for your thoughts men, try and steer clear of any jokes about cheating on your partner. You might not be as lucky as Jamie here and simply get dumped, deleted and blocked without much hesitation.
