The late Pope Francis was apparently caught up in a Nostradamus prophecy.
It was announced on Easter Monday (April 21) that the 88-year-old Bishop of Rome has passed awat after months of ill health, and once the nine days of mourning are over, the Vatican's cardinals will coalesce for one of their mysterious conclaves in order to elect his successor.
Meanwhile, it was announced on Tuesday (April 22) when the funeral of Francis will take place.

This major event, which'll be attended by various world leaders, is scheduled to be held this coming Saturday (April 26) at 9.00am UK time.
According to the Roman Catholic Church sovereign's final wishes, he wanted to forego the usual papal tradition of being buried beneath St Peter's Basilica within three coffins.
Instead, he has asked to be placed within just one coffin and buried within Rome's Basilica of Saint Mary Major.

Francis had dictated his final request back in 2022, and his words open with him saying he could 'sense the approaching twilight of my earthly life.'

It's since been claimed that the French astrologer - real name Michel de Nostredame - predicted Francis' death in his 1555 book Les Prophéties.
With the help of celestial alignment, Nostradamus claimed that a 'very old' Pope would die and that the Catholic Church would become weakened.
"Through the death of a very old Pontiff / A Roman of good age will be elected / Of him it will be said that he weakens his seat / But long will he sit and in mordant activity," he wrote.
“A young man of dark skin with the help of the great king will deliver the purse to another of red colour," read another prophetic passage.
As far as his history in forecasting goes, Nostradamus is also said to have accurately predicted Adolf Hitler's rise as the figurehead of Nazi Germany; the assassination of John F. Kennedy; the coronavirus pandemic, and even the UK's cost of living crisis.

A statement regarding Francis' passing was shared by cardinal Kevin Ferrell.
"At 7.35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the home of the Father," it began.
"His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of his Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with faithfulness, courage, and universal love, especially for the poorest and most marginalised.
"With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite, merciful love of God, One and Tribune."
