Hong Kong officials say Lucidi arrived at the building at around 6 p.m. on Thursday (27 July) and told the security guard he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor.
However, the alleged friend confirmed he was not acquainted with Lucidi and a security officer then attempted to apprehend him - but the daredevil had already secured an elevator.
Security footage then captured the moment Lucidi arrived on the 49th floor, seeing him use the stairs to climb to the top of the building.

An unidentified source said it is possible that Lucidi was trapped outside the penthouse and knocked on the window for help before he fell.
