Virginia Giuffre releases statement following crash that left her with ‘four days to live’

Virginia had claimed on Instagram that she had 'four days to live' earlier this month

Virginia Giuffre has released a new statement following claims that a crash had left her with 'four days to live'.

Earlier this month, Giuffre, who'd previously accused Prince Andrew of sexual abuse in 2022 before reaching an out-of-court settlement, shared a concerning update to Instagram, which revealed that she'd sustained serious injuries and was awaiting treatment for 'kidney renal failure' at a specialist hospital.

"They’ve given me four days to live," she wrote in the post, adding: "I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time."

The cause of Giuffre's injuries was unclear, however, she appeared to suggest at the time that they were from a crash between her car and a school bus travelling at high speed.

Following days of speculation about her condition, Giuffre has now released a new statement to PEOPLE about her condition.

"I was able to fight back against Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein who, abused and trafficked me... I can no longer stay silent," she said in her statement.

"Again, I thank everyone for their support. I have faith that justice will prevail."

Giuffre did not provide any further details about her injuries or her recovery.

Her brother Sky Roberts also spoke to the outlet to clarify that his sister hadn't explicitly linked all of her injuries to the accident.

"Let's be clear, she never stated in the bus accident [post] the cause of all her other injuries," he told PEOPLE.

Roberts went on to explain that while he doesn't know 'what happened internally to her', he believes the bruising is consistent with that of a crash.

"Nobody ever said her liver issues and kidney failure were ever from that," he added. "We still don't know if it is, I'm not a medical professional. That's up to her doctor to determine."

Meanwhile, police in Western Australia have since issued a statement to clarify any reports about a car crash, with a spokesperson saying: "The Western Australia Police Force received a report of a minor crash which occurred between a bus and a car in Neergabby on 24 March just after 3pm.

"The collision was reported by the bus driver the following day. The car sustained $2000 worth of damage. There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash."

It was not specified whether or not Giuffre was the involved party in the above crash.

The BBC added that both Western Australia police and ambulance services said they have no records of an accident of the severity Ms Giuffre describes happening in recent weeks.

Giuffre's family previously supplied the following statement to LADbible Group: "Virginia thanks everyone for the outpouring of love and support. She is overwhelmed with gratitude.

"Today she remains in serious condition while receiving medical care. On March 24, in rural Western Australia, a school bus hit the car in which she was riding.

"The police were called but said that there was no one available to come to the scene. They asked if anyone was injured and suggested that if they were, they should make their way to the hospital.

"The school bus driver had a bus full of distraught children and left the scene to get them back, saying he would file a police report, which he did later.

"Virginia was banged up and bruised and returned home. Virginia's condition worsened and she was admitted to the hospital.

"Concerning her Instagram post, Virginia thought that she had posted on her private Facebook page. Virginia and her family thank everyone for their concern."
