Judy Murray, OBE, is a renowned tennis coach and the mother of legendary tennis star Andy Murray.
Her son has reached eleven grand slam finals in total, and was victorious in the the 2016 Wimbledon Championships, 2013 Wimbledon Championships and the 2012 US Open.
He’s also the only player, male or female, to win two Olympic gold medals in singles, which he did at the 2012 and 2016 olympics.

Although she was an outstanding tennis player in her youth, Murray decided not to turn professional after she was robbed of a title on a tour to Barcelona, saying she was also ‘homesick’.
Instead of focusing on the sport, Judy decided to attend Edinburgh university and eventually graduated with french and business studies in 1981.
After university Judy became an extremely successful tennis coach. As well as coaching both her sons Jamie and Andy to a professional level, she was elected to lead the British Fed Cup team in 2011.

Her achievements were recognised when she was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2017 Birthday Honours for services to tennis, women in sport, and charity.
