One of Baba Vanga's predictions for 2022 just came true – and here's hoping that's the last one.

The late Bulgarian mystic was known for her uncanny ability to predict future events.

When she died in 1996, she left predictions for each year, right through to 5079 and it seems she's got one bang on for 2022.

Baba Vanga has made some scarily accurate predictions in the past.

For those unfamiliar with Baba Vanga, the mystic was born Vangelia Gushterov, and it was said that she gained the ability to see into the future after losing her vision at age 12 in a giant storm.

During her lifetime she garnered a pretty huge following, apparently predicting everything from Princess Diana's death, 9/11, and Barak Obama's presidency.

So, what did she predict for 2022?

This isn't the first of her predictions to come true this year.

Well, Baba Vanga said that parts of Asia and Australia would be hit by intense floods, which has actually happened down under as much of the east coast of Australia has had to cope with flooding this year.

Still, that's not the only one of the mystic's predictions to be realised this year, she also suggested that large cities would be hit by a drought, followed up by massive water shortages.

And, on Friday 12 August, a drought was officially declared in the UK.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) confirmed that parts of the South West, parts of southern and central England, and the East of England will be moved into drought status.

What's after the drought? According to the mystic locusts and famine.

The restrictions will vary based on each local water company, but are likely to include hosepipe bans being imposed on millions of people, canals being closed to boats, and extra measures to protect wildlife.

The news came after the Met Office revealed that the UK saw just 56 percent (46.3mm) of its average rainfall last month, making it the driest July in over 20 years.

And the UK isn't the only country to prove Baba Vanga right, because countries across Europe, including Portugal and Italy are urging people to conserve water supplies.

Italy is currently facing its worst drought since the 1950s.

So, now that two of Baba Vanga's predictions have come true, what else did she say we could expect in 2022?

Well, the mystic predicted that another pandemic would take place (please, no) in Siberia after researchers discover a lethal virus.

She also said that there would be famine in India with temperature plunges causing locus swarms.

Baba Vanga also said that aliens will arrive by an asteroid and there would be a virtual reality take over, which given some of Meta's new plans, doesn't seem that far-fetched.
