While it might seem like your only options are to be antisocial or completely ruin your regime, bodybuilder Mike Thurston has a trick up his sleeve.
Showing fans how it's done, the bodybuilder, who has over 295k on TikTok and 1.2 million YouTube subscribers, recently offered his words of wisdom for a wild weekend.
Now, we know what you're thinking, Thurston is probably going to tell you to stick with celery juice or something worse, but actually, his first few tips are pretty tempting.
Right up until he tells viewers to 'pretend to drink'. Yep, you're in for a real mixed bag with this one.

With the video captioned: "Weekend is finally here! So a few tips on how to enjoy a night out, without stressing too much about your gym progress", the avid gym-goer starts by recommending sticking with "drinks which are low in calories, such as vodka, lime, and soda or, like, shots."
Sounds like a dream, but there are some drawbacks as 'beers' and 'cocktails' are strictly off of Thurston's list because the calorie 'intake is just going to add up'.
Still, we quite like that he recommended shots.

However, Thurston doesn't advocate for getting absolutely off-your-face, with the content creator saying: "learn to limit yourself to 2-3 drinks that way you're going to reduce the negative side effects that alcohol brings."
We're less behind this one and brace yourself, because the TikToker's next tip is his most controversial tip yet.
He ending his video by saying: "Or, be on the safe side, don't drink alcohol, just pretend to drink and get yourself some non-alcoholic drinks."

As you can imagine, people had a lot to say about the bodybuilder's tips, with one user wholeheartedly disagreeing: "What’s the point of a night out if you can’t drink what you want. Enjoy yourself for that night but continue to be disciplined throughout the week."
While another criticised those the advice was aimed at: "How are people so addicted to alcohol. you guys are talking about balance because you can't stop."
Others weighed in with their own helpful tips, saying: "Here's my tip! Alcohol and then water! You repeat that you won’t get pissed at all! Trust me I’ve done it and it works."
And we'd like to say at this point, drinking or not, enjoy your night out! Just don't be telling the cabbie your life story during the blurry ride home...
