A local fire brigade has issued an urgent message to anyone who is attempting to cook a steak in a toaster.
In what is the latest potentially hazardous trend taking over TikTok, thousands are taking part in the 'toaster steak' challenge, which as the name suggests, you put a raw steak in a toaster to cook.
The trend has got that out of hand, the London Fire Brigade has had to issue a statement telling people not to take part.

Alongside the warning, the London Fire Brigade also posted a video of a TikToker filming her experience cooking a steak in her toaster. Take a look:
Taking to Twitter earlier this week, which also happens to be electrical safety week, they said: "What you having for dinner? This #Electricalsafetyweek we're reminding people to only use electrical products for their designated use.
"Don't cook steaks in a toaster."

In the short 11-second clip, the TikToker - who goes by the handle @itsmeju1iette - is seen filming herself putting a raw steak in a toaster, which then transitions to it being cooked and having some sauce put on it.
She must have been impressed with her cooking skills though, as the clip ends with the TikToker eating the steak, even though she said in the description to the video she was cooking it for her boyfriend. Poor bloke.
There is no indication from the TikToker on how long it spent in the toaster, but you'd think if she was suggesting it as the ideal way to cook a steak, it would be a reasonably short amount of time.

The TikToker has divided opinion by starting the trend, and a warning from a fire brigade certainly hasn't helped the matter.
Many have taken to social media to discuss the trend, as many more hop on it, with #toastersteak having thousands of hits on TikTok.
One person on social media said: "Don’t burn your house down for s**t steak," while a second added: "What the heck is wrong with you?"

And a third on the original TikTok said: "Gordon Ramsey isn’t gonna be happy bout this one."
Well, it turns out that they were right as Gordon Ramsay himself has reacted to this dangerous trend.
The legendary chef shamed the technique on his own TikTok account, labeling the TikToker as an 'idiot'.

He said: "What are you doing? Toaster is for bread, and right now if I had two slices I'd stick them on your ears you idiot.
"And now you're gonna cover it in sauce, really?"
