One group of friends decided to fly to Spain for the day for just £30 before managing to get back in time for work the next morning.
Londoner Taneshia Deckon opted for an alternative day out with her pals, swapping the capital city's expensive cocktails, extortionate travel prices, and pricey dinner bills to head to the land of tapas, sangria and beaches galore.
The 27-year-old rocked up to the Spanish island of Mallorca and miraculously managed to spend less than what she would have done by taking a trip into her own city.

Armed with just their handbags during the entire trip, Taneshia and her mates had the day trip of a lifetime after visiting the beach, going shopping and eating lots of the local cuisine.
Considering a meal alone in London would already set you back over £30, it was clearly a no-brainer for Taneshia to dust off the passport and really get the most bang for her buck.
She explained: "It's better to go abroad for the same price and you get that cultural experience too.

"It wasn’t expensive at all, considering we were in Mallorca, the food and drinks weren’t expensive and in total we all spent under £100."
Not too shabby at all.
"You would easily spend over £100 doing something in London. We'd booked a day spa previously in the UK which was £80 just for the spa alone," the jet-setter continued.

"A day out in London is more expensive than a day out in Mallorca."
Taneshia revealed how 'shocking' it was that she found return flights which were so 'cheap'.
Sharing her travel tips, she added: "It's just knowing where and how to find them, and also going out of season helps as it's quiet.
"It was beautiful weather, we had a lot of sun and didn't need to wear our jackets. We left England in the rain, flew to the sun and came back to the rain and went to work the next day."

Considering they didn't have to use up a single day of holiday and paid pretty much the same amount of money as they already would on a London day out, it's fair to say this group of mates took wanderlust to a whole new level.
Speaking of her short but sweet holiday antics, Taneshia explained: "Mallorca is a good location, as the airport is close to the beach and the mall.
"We went shopping, and we all bought matching sunglasses and sandals."

To top it all off, the group didn't hold back and got to tuck into some killer 'traditional Spanish food'.
The Londoner recalled: "We then got a taxi to the beach and took some photos and drank sangria and ate paella, calamari, and patatas bravas."
"It's just crazy that it's cheaper to fly to Spain than go for a day out in London," Taneshia added.
"We thought about just going to another city in the UK, but it's just so expensive right now. We realised it's cheaper to fly abroad - sometimes there's better weather as well."
That's for sure.
