A man who made a $20 bet in his school yearbook ended up winning his bet on his wedding day.
Back in 2018, when he was writing his yearbook quote, Cade Wessell had only been dating girlfriend Sarah Dill for two weeks when he knew what words his classmates would remember him by.
"Twenty bucks I marry Sarah Dill," was the quote he chose and you can probably already guess how this story is going to end.

Five years later, he was walking down the aisle with Sarah, having popped the question in January 2023.
To pay off the joke someone even passed Cade $20 as he walked down the aisle - which is a pretty good way to wrap things up with a neat little bow.
Since then they've been going on a two-year-long honeymoon round Asia and Australia and plan to return to the US in time for the 2026 World Cup.

Florida resident Cade said: "The teacher just sprang this stuff on us at the last minute so when they passed the form round it was my first time thinking about it.
"I didn't have anything profound to say like some of my friends were trying to do.
"I was just thinking about Sarah and I knew I was going to marry her and I thought 'this will be cool down the road'.
"I didn't tell her anything, I was going to see if they would print it. At my bachelor party we were talking about my senior quote. A mate said 'I'm going to give you $20 when you're walking down the aisle afterwards'.

"I forgot about it with all the planning and as we were walking up the aisle he tapped me on the shoulder and gave me the $20.
"I was the happiest man in the world that day. We got perfect photos and I was $20 up too."
Sarah, who'd moved to a different school for senior year, only learned about her husband's romantic gesture after friends sent her a picture of their yearbook.

She said: "I still had friends at the school and they Snapchatted me a picture of it in class.
"I was floored, especially as we'd only been dating a couple of weeks. He was quite confident early on.
"Looking at that picture was a very full-circle moment for us. To finally have the wedding with all our friends and family there, and the bet was fulfilled, it just feels like a rom-com."
When it comes to putting bets that you're going to marry your girlfriend of two weeks in the school yearbook your own mileage might vary.
