Hawk Tuah girl shares 'revolting' $600 request she received as she speaks out for first time since going viral

Hawk Tuah girl shares 'revolting' $600 request she received as she speaks out for first time since going viral

Maybe this is a cautionary tale on viral fame, or the number of weirdos on the internet

If you think it'd be fun to go viral then spare a thought for the 'Hawk Tuah girl', real name Hailey Welch.

She recently shot to viral fame after YouTubers Tim and Dee TV spoke to her on the streets of Nashville, Tennessee.

They asked her: "What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?"

Giving a response that's now made her internet famous, Welch said: "You gotta give ‘em that ‘hawk tuah and spit on that thing!"

Since then her life has basically been carried along by the viral rollercoaster of fame, and nobody knows for how long it'll keep going.

Welch has already made her first public appearance since becoming famous and found the time to launch a range of 'Hawk Tuah' related products.

You never know when your 15 minutes of fame are going to expire so you might as well cash in on what tends to be a fleeting kind of recognition that fizzles out, only to occasionally flare up again when someone wonders what happened to you.

She's already reached the point where some people are thinking that The Simpsons predicted her, though in the episode in question it doesn't quite pan out the way Welch was meaning.

Riding the wave of her viral fame, she was even invited to go on stage by a country singer and duly accepted the request.

However, since she's now famous on the internet that also means there have also been some less savoury requests, including one particularly 'revolting' one.

Speaking to Plan Bri Uncut, Welch was asked whether she'd had any 'creepy guys message you'.

Obviously the answer was 'yes', because ask pretty much any woman whether they've had creepy guys message them and the answer is almost certainly going to be 'yes'.

Welch explained that it wasn't just her who was getting the messages either, as people who knew her were also in line for requests which were better off not being made.

"So the guy that does my hats, he got offered $600 like, three days ago, for me to spit in a jar and sell it," she said while wearing an impressively large hat.

"That is revolting. Like, that's just disgusting, is it not?"

Someone out there is apparently willing to pay $600 (£474) for some spit in a jar that came from a woman who went viral.

I feel like this is something we all rather knew would happen but it's still quite depressing to see our worst assumptions about our species confirmed.
