A man who was just out and about on his holidays was shocked to discover that he had an identical twin – well not exactly – sharing the same space as him.
Sean Douglas McArdle was just having a lovely dip in the pool at the Flamingo in Las Vegas when he discovered that he had an uncanny doppelganger.
Sharing his news on Reddit, Sean explained how he’d seen a group of people pointing and laughing at him whilst he was in the pool.

Now, this seemingly is a strange and uncommon occurrence for Sean – lucky him – so he started to feel a bit awkward and insecure.
However, he turned around towards his own friends to discover that they were doing exactly the same thing in the other direction.
That’s because someone else nearby was the absolute spit of him, even right down to the horn-rimmed spectacles and cap that they both had on.
It’s like a glitch in the matrix.

Sharing his news, Sean wrote: “I wasn’t convinced until now… we are definitely in a simulation.
“Today I randomly swam past my doppelgänger at the Flamingo pool in Vegas.”
Honestly, look at them!

It’s so strange.
When asked what went through his head upon first spotting his doppelganger, Sean responded: “I immediately thought: ‘holy s*** that guy looks like the dude I see in the mirror’, and my second thought was: ‘He looks cooler than me. Probably has real Club Master Ray Bans unlike my Zenni knock-offs.’”
Since he shared the post, it has received more than 95,000 upvotes on Reddit, with loads of people commenting on the similarities between the pair, as well as offering up some advice.
One commenter joked: “You’re not supposed to fight to the death when you see your doppelgänger? …S***.”

Sean responded: “We did. He won. I’m dead.”
Upon being asked if the other guy sounded anything like him, Sean said: “His voice sounded like a recording, nothing at all like mine.”
However, the most popular comment seemed to suggest that maybe it’s just because Sean has something of a common look about him.

After all, maybe he’s just got a really recognisable face that many people have similarities with.
Although even that doesn’t really account for exactly how alike these two look.
The most upvoted comment on the whole thing reads: “There are three of you guys at every brewery.”
Still, have you ever seen two people who look as similar as this who aren’t directly related?
Definitely get in touch if you have – there’s a story in that.
