If you’ve been taken in by the hype surrounding the return of the McDonald’s Monopoly game, you may equally be interested to learn that there are some tips to boost your chances of winning a prize.
The popular McDonald’s Monopoly game is back again from today, 7 September, in the UK and loads of people will be heading down to their nearest restaurant to peel back the magical strips to stand a chance of winning some fairly epic prizes.
Well, if you listen to the ideas of Martin Lewis' MoneySavingExpert, you might be able to give yourself a little bit of an extra edge.

Is there nothing the man can’t do?
First off, you can instantly double your likelihood of winning a prize by downloading the McDonald’s app and getting an extra go on there.
The game – which runs until October 18 this year – can also be played on the app, with a digital prize board and wallet stored on there.

Every time you buy something and scan a game piece onto the app, you also get a ‘digital peel’ online, which means that it’s essentially a free roll of the dice.
What’s more, you can sign up to the McDonald’s Rewards scheme, which gives you one point for every penny spent at Maccies.
After you’ve earned 1,500 points you can redeem them for a reward. For example, 1,500 points gets you a small fries or a medium salad.
However, if you’re signed up, you can also get codes for free additional peels of McDonald’s Monopoly. That’ll be sent through to whatever email address you used to sign up.

Another top tip – although this should really go without saying – is that you should always keep hold of rare pieces you get.
Obviously, the aim of the game is to collect properties, and with each property group there is a rare sticker.
Hanging onto those rare ones means that you’ve got a greater chance of completing the set if the less rare ones turn up later.

On top of all this, you could always have a check of any abandoned receipts or vouchers that you see when you’re physically in the restaurant.
Not everyone plays the game, so there may be some freebies there. However, be warned that McDonald’s doesn’t encourage you to do this.
On the prize list this year there’s stuff like a £100,000 cash prize, an electric MINI car, loads of holiday vouchers and gadgets, and a whole heap of other prizes.
May the odds be ever in your favour.
