People have been left stunned after a TikToker shared a live stream of 'tiny tree people'.

The user, @selflextion, posted the live video on the streaming platform last week. In it, he can be seen walking up to a tree, shouting: "Come back out!... I'm just trying to be friends with them, maybe I'll come give them some food."

He captioned the video: "This was on live!!! What ya’ll think? About know what that was?"

Remarkably, in @selflextion's video, a teeny tiny 'person' can be seen peeking out of one of the tree's hollows.

It's pretty wild and TikTok basically went into meltdown over the video.

Many claimed the creature was something called a 'duendes'.

According to Astonishing Legends, dunedes, also known as El Duende, come from Latin American folklore.

"Duende is roughly translates to ‘Elf’," the website explains.

"Dunedes are said to a little less than two-feet tall but don’t let their small size fool you, they can still pack a wallop when they want to.

"There are male and female dunedes, but they look very similar. They don’t wear clothes, are covered in long hair, and the males sometimes grow beards as well.

"They typically dwell in the jungle and their diet is said to consist largely of fruits, like figs."

Apparently, duendes can be good or bad, depending on their mood. However, according to folklore, they are reportedly very protective of their homes.

People were quick to comment on the video, telling @selflextion to be super careful.

One person wrote: "These are called duendes and they are very much real."

While another said: "Some duendes are not friendly...be careful."

And a third added: "I went to the philippines, and i was told a dwende lived in the tree. I didn't believe it so i was talking bad about it. Then the next day i had a 105 Fever and developed a rash all over. It's real."

Others warned @selflextion not to feed the duendes, writing: "DONT FEED THEM duendes are extremely chaotic creatures that have been known to cause misfortune to those who see them."

And some questioned whether the video was real, but considering it was live streamed, many TikTokers questioned how it could have been manipulated.

“I think this is real,” one TikToker wrote. “If it is real, this would be a major discovery."

Meanwhile another added: “These days, unfortunately, you can only believe something if you see it with your own eyes."
