After a couple months of dating, you might learn something about your partner you wish you hadn’t.
Maybe they like too much milk in their tea or prefer to have the big light on rather than the lamp when you watch telly.
And often, you might just get the ick.
But what if you’re already married to them? And what if that one thing you learn is that you’re related?

One couple had the realisation that they’re actually cousins.
The TikTok pair revealed they didn’t find this out until being three years into marriage.
At the time of writing, Nick and Tylee have racked up over 5.7million views on a TikTok video where they wrote: “Over 2 years into marriage and we just found out we are cousins.”
Playing ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ in the background as they kiss, the couple from Utah, US, captioned the video: “I wish I was kidding.”

One user said their ‘jaws dropped’ watching the clip as others commented with their similar experiences.
One wrote: “My husband and I are 10th cousins once removed.
“Almost everyone I know in Utah is my cousin somehow.”

And another put: “Same thing happened to us. Married for three years with a kid and then found out we're fifth cousins once removed.”
The couple have since revealed more ‘silly goofy facts’ about their marriage as they share the same birthday and admit ‘people think we look alike’.
Many users wanted to know if Nick and Tylee have stayed together after finding out they’re related.
And they shared a humorous response, writing: “We have thought about it real hard..”

The pair then dance around for the camera as a song repeats ‘yes’ over and over in the background.
They’ve not yet revealed how they made the discovery about their family link or just how closely they are related as cousins.
It’s not that uncommon for couples to realise they’re related after many years together.

Celine and Joseph Quinones had been together for 17 years and had three children before finding out they’re related.
The pair took a family tree DNA test which showed they have a match of 62 cM, or centimorgan, - a unit for measuring genetic linkage.
So it basically means the couple have the same ancestor eight generations back.
Celina went viral on TikTok where she shared: “My kids and my husband are my everything and we looked past it. All our kids have 10 fingers and 10 toes. It's a good ice breaker lol."
