Blind mystic Baba Vanga has predicted a terrifying series of events that will lead to the 'end of the world'

Blind mystic Baba Vanga has predicted a terrifying series of events that will lead to the 'end of the world'

Fortunately we won't be around long enough to see any of it

Despite dying in 1996, blind mystic Baba Vanga was apparently able to see into the distant future and made a whole host of chilling predictions about what will happen to mankind.

Spoiler alert, none of them are any fun.

Born in the dying days of the Ottoman Empire, Baba Vanga - real name Vangelia Pandeva Gushterova - led an eventful life and is most widely remembered for her claimed abilities to see the future.

Over the years her followers have claimed she was able to foresee events such as Princess Diana's death, the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and even the date of her own passing.

In more recent years, various prophecies predicting doom and misery to fall upon the world have been attested to Vanga - including a predicted date of the 'end of humanity'.

Let's take a look at them below.

2025 - Major European war

Kicking things off with next year, Baba Vanga believed 2025 would see the continent of Europe devastated by a major war.

But what about the war already happening in Ukraine? Well apparently this one will be even bigger, enough to decimate the continent's population.

2028 - We mine Venus for energy

Global energy supplies are already a concern, but apparently things will be bad enough that we're heading to Venus in just four short years in search of resources.

Although, given the planet’s inhospitable climate, it seems unlikely this will happen. Maybe she confused Venus with Mars?

2033 - We wave goodbye to the ice caps

Arguably the most probable of all her predictions, Baba Vanga believed the polar ice caps will be completely gone by 2033 - an event which will cause global devastation as sea levels drastically rise.

2076 - Communism

State communism may currently seem so last century to us, but apparently the political philosophy will be back in fashion in just over 50 years. And this time, the workers of the entire world will be uniting.

2130 - We make contact with aliens

According to this timeline, it takes us just over a century to make contact with aliens.

However it's worth noting that Vanga also claimed that aliens will reach out to us as soon as next year, maybe extraterrestrial life wasn't her strong point?

2170 - Global drought

As climate change continues to wreak havoc on the Earth, a drought will allegedly sweep across the whole planet. And just like the melting of the ice caps, this one feels much more likely than colonising Venus.

3005 - War with Mars

Vanga may have forgotten to tell us about either colonising or finding life on Mars but it seems that hostilities are inevitable, as our planet will eventually go to war with a civilisation over on Mars - human or otherwise.

3797 - The end of Earth

Whoever is left on Earth will need to evacuate as it’s apparently not going to be able to support life anymore. Let's hope there's peace with Mars.

5079 - The end of everything

And that's all folks, after a chaotic few thousand years the last survivors of the human race will apparently take their last breaths in 5079.

At least we'll all be long gone by then.
